Not at all!  Did they stipulate that the money should go towards replacing that specific purse?

What a bummer that you lost your VB bag!  I don’t think it would be rude to use the money to pay towards your credit card instead.  If they mention it to you, you could just say explain how the purse you had is no longer available, so you’re still looking for a replacement.

I think it’s more the sentiment that counts, they at least cover the value of the purse… if it were me I wouldn’t be offended that you spent the money on something else! Silly puppy 🙂

I’m so sorry that happened to you but I must admit the part about the puppy only loving VB purses is making me LOL!  I wonder if they do something special to the material to make it extra tasty?

In terms of your actual question, I’m with the others, particularly if you can’t find the exact purse you had and loved.

I don’t think it’s rude at all. If she asks, which I’m sure she won’t, just mention that it’s retired so you’re trying to decide what else to buy or you could tell her the truth.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea either.  I would email the Vera Bradley website and tell them what happened.  Maybe they could find one for you!

Check ebay if you really want the purse back. However, don’t feel bad if you use the money toward something else! I doubt the mom will ask about the purse!!
