I’ve never heard of them, but I use Kong beds that you can get at Petsmart.  My dogs weren’t fans of the Eddie Bauer firm beds, and the Kong covers are virtually indestructible.

We have the Kong bed and the Big Shrimpy nest beds http://www.bigshrimpy.com/products/ We like the Big Shrimpy best is that that the covers and inner liner can been removed and machine washed/dried. You can also purchase additional filling separately. The Kong Bed fits best in the car and you can removed the cover.

Never heard of Jax & Bones, but the results that came up with a Google search don’t look particularly durable to justify the pricetag.  I would see if you can find a website with reviews before purchasing one.

We use a Masterpiece bed for our dog, (http://www.helpingudders.com/prod-Masterpiece+Component+Bed++-+22+sizes-524.aspx).  They are expensive, but they are durable, and washable.  You can also buy replacement fleece tops for them.  We have owned the bed for four or five years now and it’s still in great shape.  We have replaced the fleece top for it once in that time, and might need to do so again soon, more to keep it looking fresh and new than the fleece actually being worn.

We have a custom made memory foam bed by Max Comfort and a second deep dish memory foam bed by Orvis. They’re both pricey but well worth it, they are really well made and last forever. I’d highly recommend both.
