skplue :  most of the day cares in my area have webcams you can watch your dog all day. They are huge on screening behavior also.

Dog parks can be really tricky. I have a large breed but when he was a small pup he encountered a few overzealous/bully type dogs. We had to try a few in our area before we found a good one. It’s helpful to understand what’s good play behaviour and what isn’t. You were definitely right to start breaking things up, however, you should never pick your dog up. I understand why you did since it’s a small breed but my trainer said it’s one of the worst things you can do since the dog develops an attitude that it’s superior to the others. If you’re not already going to a puppy class then that would probably be the best way to socialize. It worked wonders for ours and helped reinforce basic commands. You can also socialize by taking your dog to new places, meeting people, experiencing new sounds etc..
