Either they can sense the pregnancy, or they can sense the subtle changes in your or your SO’s behavior and stress level related to it. If you are more tired/less active/worried, etc it could be noticed by the dog.

My dog totally knows I’m pregnant, she always ignores DH now lol. She literally will ONLY sit with me on the couch, she’s way more attached to me than she was before. Before I would sometimes try and convince her to cuddle with me on the couch because she’s always really liked my DH (I think because of his scent.. she sleeps on his sweatpants/sweater at night because he leaves them beside the bed) but now she never goes to him at all.

I’m not sure if getting up more to pee would be a sign though.

Both of my boy dogs can tell, I am sure of it.  They won’t leave my side and want to cuddle all the time.  My Coonhound more so, than my lab, but they are both very attached.  They say animals can sense things like that, and it doesn’t surprise me one bit.

My furbaby knew befre I did. He has always been clingy to me, but it tripled. Now I can’t even go into the restroom without him following me. As I am getting closer (33 weeks) he won’t let me push the door closed. He will come behind me and push the door open and leave. If I push it up he will do the same thing sgain. I guess he thinks that i need to be watched in case I start labor lol.

he seems to like to be close to my belly now. The Munchkin doesn’t like it much and kicks him. lol I think that they are fighting over their mommy.

I think my dog knew before I did.  Last week she started getting really protective when we’d go for our walks.  She’s normally a little cautious and guarded, but this was more so, with her fur standing straight up on end from neck to tail, whenever we were outside.  She was right there with us this morning when we found out, and my husband picked her up to show her the test.  Smile

I’ve read several articles that dogs defintely know that their mommy is pregnant, at least they know something is different. they tend to get super super protective and have behavior changes. They sense the different hormones and smells coming from you. But nothing to worry about, just pay as much attention to them.
