Yep! Our lab (now passed) was in our wedding. I had a special collar & leash ordered for her to match our wedding decor. I got ready at home with my girls, and so she was there with us all day. She rode with us on the trolly to the venue, and was walked down the aisle by my Mother-In-Law and her husband. She then proceeded to lay down at the front in the aisle and the bridal party all had to step over her as they walked in…haha. She just layed there for the ceremony and then we got some photos with her too.

After photos a babysitter picked up the flower girl and ring bearer (their mom was my Maid/Matron of Honor and wanted a kid-free night) so she took our dog home for us, fed her, and she was good until we got home at the end of the night. We had a dog door and fenced yard so she’s always been able to go in and out as she wanted.

Just a thought if you end up not having your dog/pet at the wedding but want them to still be a part of the day.  I took a few photos of my dog wearing a bow tie (couple different poses) and did a simple photoshop to add what looked like a sign (just a text box) with “Table #1”, etc…I even drew what looked like string around his neck holding the sign (for me it would have been too difficult to have him pose with an actual sign :)).  We put them in a nice frame and placed one on each table to designate the table #.  Worked out great!

peekaboobs :  Thanks…just to add to that, we also strategically placed a sticker on a guest name card from each table (someone we knew had a bit of a sense of humor and would get a kick out of it) and as the best man was wrapping up his speech he told everyone to take a look and see if they had the sticker…whoever did got to take home the picture 🙂
