Since 9:30 am and it’s now almost 1:00pm, I had my dogs locked in the bedroom becasue my bathroom ceiling is being repaired from an upstairs leak. This guy went out of my apartment at least 6x to get tools and stuff, each time he’s gone about 20 minutes… and I am waiting for him to come back one more time… OMG, I could’ve did it myself in 15 minutes!
Anyways, The guy is coming again tomorrow to paint the ceiling…. What to do with the dogs, lock them up again, and tomorrow for how long? ARGH I don’t want to leave the apartment with him alone in here… I don’t trust anyone.

Do you know what time he’s coming? You could take the dogs for a long morning walk & just lock them up when he gets there. When he’s gone, take them for another walk. Paint fumes can make dogs sick, so getting fresh air while the paint is drying will be good for them — and you!!

Do your parents ever take care of the doggies? My furbabies go crazy when maintenace shows up, they do the same thing—go in and out and take their sweet time in between, drives me nuts. Like @serabell said maybe take them out for a quick walk or put them on the patio/balcony if you have one? I hate having maintenance come, it stresses all of us out

@Benavis1489: Do your parents ever take care of the doggies?
Uhm… no I am 47 years old, never had my mom take care of any furbabies as she lives in condo that don’t allow animals, and my mom is at this moment in Florida… so no….LOL
I will take them out after maintenance leaves, I do not trust him in here alone. It’s just a pain, he didn’t have to take that long today…. 4 hours!

As long as they have had their exercise and potty trips before and after they should be fine. My pups are crated during the day and that is about seven hours.

I would put them in the bedroom. Our dog spent his first few years in the bedroom while we were gone (due to his penchant for mischief) and now, even though he has the run of the house, prefers to spend our time away in the bedroom.
