I’m not but my Future Sister-In-Law is. I don’t know if she’s buying anything new but she doesn’t wear a lot.

I did my own makeup. I wear a full face of makeup pretty much every day, so I know what I like. Whenever someone else does my makeup I feel like I don’t look like myself.

I did my own makeup. But I already own a LOT of makeup (like probably the same amount as a makeup artist) and I wear a full face every day. You definitely don’t have to buy high-end products to have a great result. I wore L’Oreal foundation that’s under $10 for my wedding. I would check out product reviews and try out some new makeup to see if you find anything you like.

I’m going to do my own makeup. I didn’t like my makeup trial so I figure I might as well save the money. I’ll probably just use the products I already have–Bare Minerals eyeshadow, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and bronzer, Nars eyeliner, and Chanel mascara. It might not be the coolest or most expensive stuff out there, but it works for me every day.

I thought I wanted to try the whole getting-makeup-done thing, but nope! I’m also just not a big makeup person generally though.

I did my own.  I splurged on a good foundation and I bought the sample/travel size version of eye shadows, a countouring palette and a finishing powder.  Everything else I already had or picked up at the pharmacy.  I got a lot of flack for doing my own but I thought my make up looked great and I, honestly, needed the 40 minutes or so to just sit with my pretty make up and think about what was about to happen!

I think I’ll most likely be doing my own makeup because I’m used to doing a full face nearly every day. If you’re doing your own makeup I’d advise you to make sure you familiarize yourself with the products you’re using if you’re buying new makeup. Also make sure none of your skincare products or foundation contain SPF. Your face will flashback ghostly white in flash photography. Also invest in a setting spray. Not only will it help you prolong the lasting power of your makeup but it’ll get rid of a powdery look making your foundation appear more skin like. I think doing your own makeup is a great money saving idea and at the end of the day you know your face better than any makeup artist. Just make sure you allot yourself enough time

I feel like Ive budgeted really well and Im treating myself to this one area but the quotes Ive been getting are kind of outrageous in my area, I’ve only found one person that seems reasonable and professionial, if she doesnt work out I might have to go the DIY route and I dont know anything im normally just a lipgloss person, help! lol

I did my own makeup. I like the way I look when I do my makeup, and I’ve watched enough Youtube tutorials and practiced to feel confident. However, I will say that I loved the way I looked in person, but in pictures, it’s harder to see. I think that those who are more experienced in makeup may do a better job at making sure makeup performs in pictures. MUAs may have products that do better in pictures too.

I’m still happy I did my own makeup. I liked the way I looked, and I felt good about everything. How your makeup appears in pictures, and if you’re able to see it is one thing to consider though.

I did my own makeup for my wedding day. Once when I was a bridesmaid I got it done and I didn’t look like myself. I do a pretty decent job myself so I decided not to spend the money.

I’m doing it myself, I don’t trust anyone else with my face!

I would have done it myself if I had a stash of quality makeup. I say go for it! I think you should do at least one or two trials though so you have it down on the day of.

I never go out without full makeup and I’ve been at it since I was 13–a long, long time ago.  All of that said, I had a professional do my hair and makeup.  What you see in the mirror is not necessarily what you’ll see in photos.  It’s easy to look washed out.

Why not have a makeup trial and then decide?

I didn’t do my own makeup mainly because I don’t generally wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis. I really wanted to look glamorous for our wedding so I hired a make up artist
