    Dollar store tests totally work but I find that they are not as sensitive. A FRER is the best test to use especially if early. I got a BFP on my FRER at 10DPO and b/c of my POAS addiction I got a dollar store test with a BFP on 16DPO.

    The dollarstore tests are just as sensitive as the Wondfo strips (25mlu?) & a lot of the no-name brand pharmacy tests. If you’re ok with something less sensitive than a FRER then it’s a pretty good deal.

    Actually the box from the dollartree tests say they have a 50 mUl ssensitivity which is a higher threshold than a FRER and Wondfo strips….. it’s about the same as CBE digis (which have a range of 25-50 but pick up closer to 50). Considering the cost of hpt’s the cheapies are a much better route until you get a faint or I think I see something positive. Whatever you do, stay away from blue dye tests b/c they are known for evap lines.

    Here are my Dollar Store tests a day before my missed period. Very clear, I think they’re great!

    I used one and it worked but it was very faint. I had much better results with a FRER.

    Hete’s the thing I keep seeing people get wrong and it’s driving me bonkers,  dollar store test work just fine if you use them as intended,  but they are not early detection tests. I see people all the time take dollar store tests get a faint line,  then they take a FRER and it’s glaring, they go hating on the dollar test as if it gave a faulty result.  Point is,  if you’re looking for early detection go with Wondfos, they’re cheaper than 1 apiece and they have a lower HCG threshold.  If you just want your standard day of missed period test,  they work fine.

    @Mrs.Maeby:  ding ding ding! Yes! I had to go the dollarstore route b/c I forgot to order some wondfos before it was time to test! BUT dollarstore tests are definitely cheaper than the FRER (which I still spent a butt load on)! lol

    @runsyellowlites:  The ones at Dollarama (in Canada) have a 25mui threshold, so those ones are equivalent. It really depends on where you get them I guess. Most boxes say how accurate they are though.

    I personally never had luck with dollarstore or internet cheapies! even when my hcg was over 500 (dr tested ) my internet cheapie barely showed a line.

    @runsyellowlites:  yeah it kind of frustrates me! I’ve been seeing this on the bee a lot lately.  Also bees, stop taking blue dye tests for the love of God!  All the bees are going to tell you is get a pink dye test lol.

    @nicolebug:  I wonder if you’re one of those people that doesn’t show up on tests. I’ve heard of that before.   We’re you able to test positive on any tests?

    @MrsRugbee:  Some are more sensitive… most say they’re 50 mUl (u.s.)

    @Mrs.Maeby:  Lol! I was tempted to get a blue dye test b/c the dollar store was out but I KNEW not to do that… still so tempting when you’re a poas-aholic like me! lol

    @Mrs.Maeby:  Yes heres a picture to show yopu how different my two tests were, and i peed on like more internet cheapies just to make sure that one wasnt defective and all were the same. I do however never get a positive OPK.

    @nicolebug:  I can see the line on the internet cheepie it’s just very faint, it looks exactly like my first test did. Also I believe only the pink handled ones are early response, so you’re comparing an early response (FRER) with a regular HPT (internet cheapie) so it’s bound to look different, but you can still see a line on that blue test, I wouldn’t call that negative personally, but I can see the distinction. Out of curiousity did you continue to test with your internet cheapies?
