Yesterday… He went to work in the morning (but apparently spent almost no time there because he had things to get ready. hehe) Apparently he left work and headed to the mall in search of a little velvet ring box (since the ones zales… and pretty much everyone else uses are too huge to be concealed in your pocket). He said it took him SEVEN stores to find one. Then he stopped and picked me up some very gorgeous flowers (which I later found out was because he needed rose petals for later in the evening). He somehow managed to hide a bottle of my favorite champagne in the fridge (which is fairly empty), so kudos to him on that. He also had me pick up chocolate and strawberries at the grocery store when I was there earlier in the day. (I didn’t really think much of it.)
Now to the good part!!! We had 6pm dinner reservations, and got all dressed up. I did suspect that something was going to happen, but I figured it would be quiet and private (probably after we got home from dinner, or discretely at the table). We ate our dinners, had regular dinner conversation, and then ordered dessert.
As soon as our waitress walked away, Mr P got up with his glass of wine, and grabbed his spoon from the table. I said “What are you doing?” … he called the attention of the entire section we were in… to which I’ve got my hands over my mouth and I’m just saying “Oh my God, Oh my God…” haha. He gave some schpeel about having to want to do this for a while, and that I mean so much to him, and then he got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Yayyyyy!
(He also was amazing enough to slip our waitress his camera earlier in the night, without me knowing it, so she was there to take pictures of the whole thing!)
We came home, he ran inside before me while I went to park, and put out candles, and rose petals, champagne, and chocolates. It was the sweetest most perfect proposal I could’ve ever asked for, and I never in a million years would’ve seen my not-very-romantic, not-sentimental now fiance professing his love for me in front of a whole bunch of people. I’ll never forget it.
