I purchased a birdcage veil from this seller. The price was low she had it listed as on sale. She specifically said the low price does not mean the quality is not there. She said these veils were HIGH quality. So I bought one, and its the lowest quality I’ve ever seen. The flower felt like paper, and the veil part was soo stiff!
I wasn’t happy but whatever I get what I pay for…right? So when it came time to give feedback I gave a neutral feedback, and said “quality matches price”. I figured it might keep other brides from wasting their money! The seller then in return gave me a negative feedback then sent me this message:
Etsy conversation from veillady:
I feel sorry for you and I certainly would not refund you if I knew you are rude since you don’t deserve it. I will enjoy my business, selling my pretty products and I am sure your stupid feedback will not hurt my business at all. Some people like you are looking to get everything free. I have sold over 400 items at Etsy and everybody is happy. every now and then some stupid ass holes like do a business with us. In fact I don’t care about you and your stupid feedback. You can watch my business FOREVER if you wish.
Soo just thought I would help the other Bee’s out that are looking for a veil. If you’ve worked with her and didn’t have this happen to you, then you were lucky!

Oh my gosh. What an idiot.

What is up with these etsy business owners being so rude to us?!?!?!?! Read my post to see what happened with me. Good luck and I’m sorry she was like that to you.

Can you report her to Etsy? I’m not sure if that’s possible but that’s not the way to do business at all.

Eeep that’s awful! Did you at least try and resolve the quality issues with her before posting negative feedback? She is NOT justified in talking to you like that, but it is kind of unwritten code to give the seller a chance to make it right (whether that means a refund or remaking the piece, etc) before leaving neutral or negative feedback. Of course, she could have very politely and diplomatically approached that with you instead of sending that horrible, nasty email!! That’s a great way to sink her business….*facepalm*

@crayfish: yeah I did, that’s the sad part! I told her I wasn’t happy with the quality, all I wanted was her to make a nicer one. She just refunded me $5. I didn’t pay much for it, it was only $18 but still! She argued at that point that its high quality. I didn’t giver her negative, just neutral. I figured why give her positive? Then other brides will order one from her and waste their money too. She in return gave me a negative feedback as a purchaser. Not a big deal to me since I don’t sell anything.

@Asparagus:not sure, and I don’t care too, I just wanted to look out for other brides.

as an etsy seller i find this apalling, this is clearly a revenge sort of rating and should be removed by etsy staff. please send an email to etsy and include a copy/paste of her convo to you. explain the situation and ask them to remove the rating she gave you. they should not allow that type of crap to go on there!
ebay has rules specifically to curb this kind of revenge rating, why not etsy?

Unfortunately, revenge ratings are VERY common. I’d report that convo to Etsy.

I’ve bought several things from Etsy, and had a great experience! This was the only one that was like this. So I will for sure continue to use the site for other wedding stuff that I need.

That was so cold of the seller! I agree, contact etsy about this.
On a side note, I bought a $20 veil from on Etsy and it was very stiff. I hung it in the bathroom for a week and the steam from hot showers really softened it up. I ended very pleased with how it looked!

Oh no! 🙁 I’ve bought from Etsy twice and both times had great experiences. I’m sorry this happened! 🙁

Wow, that seller needs a lesson in business writing.
