We didn’t buy any candy and I made Dear Fiance turn off the landscape light timers so the we intentionally do not get ToTers. I’m not a kid person!

I literally just dumped out my big cauldron bowl and put all the coffee crisp and KitKats at the bottom and put the smarties and Aeros at the top LOL I want my favorites as leftovers.

Last year Fiance bought enough candy to feed ten times the kids who came. We were drowning in it and once you get going it’s like crack.

This year we both have to work so there I can claim ‘of course we don’t do that! See? No candy here!’

Oh, I’m not going to lie, we bought three huge bags and I went through one of them and took out every single Reeses and went through another and took out every cherry flavored sucker. I’m pregnant and those two things are the only sweet things that don’t make me want to vomit right now, so I just took an extra step to ensure any leftovers we have are the kinds I want!

RobbieAndJuliahaha :  I did full size bars this year hoping to stir up a buzz on the streets and get more trick or treaters but still have only had about 30. I’ve seen other people in town posting on our community Facebook page that they have full sizes too! Do kids just not want candy??

I love seeing all the little kiddies dressed up and would happily buy loads of candy to give out (mini mars bars would be held hostage until the very end lol!). But one of my cats is really terrified of the doorbell and gets very stressed so we turn our lights out 🙁 I hate to be antisocial but I don’t want my poor guy to be upset all night.

The scardy cat in question:

RobbieAndJuliahaha :  bahaha this is so what we did, and you used a Simpsons pic. *Soulmates* But you did lose me a little at marshmallows.

And as a Canadian, Rockets are chalky little pastel candies that are delicious. And I think our Smarties are your Rockets, and they are also delicious. Everything is delicious, except marshmallow candy. And candy corn, whatever they even are.

I don’t buy candy for the kids… I buy it for me, on sale, Nov 1!

We don’t get trick or treaters 🙁

We live in the middle of nowhere so we don’t get trick or treaters but I would totally do full size bars if we had some! Those were always my favorite houses as a kid. There was also this old man that sat outside his really old house to give all the kids apples and oranges, I love when people get into the spirit even if they can’t afford the fancy candies.

BalletParker :

So, it’s NOT just me?

Other intelligent, capable, strong women can’t resist the siren song of Halloween candy?

Dh is some big help.  My enabler buys too much candy in the first place, so I give him strict orders to put the damn candy away where I can’t reach it (he’s 6’2” to my 5’4”).

So what does he do?  Stashes it on a shelf that I can, if I get on my tip toes and balance myself just right, easily get.  (And there are always the dining room chairs).

Now, if it were something I actually needed, like a shirt, he can hide that thing so a team of highly trained archaeologists could never find it.

DrCrazyCat :

Wait.  Wut?  Does your kitty not realize Halloween is his day?

What other cat gets an entire holiday?

He’s beautiful, btw.
