I have this good male friend, a very cool guy, who always helps others out and tries to do the right thing every time. He has a friendship with this old school friend and she did the makeup for my wedding, she is very talented.
I was under the impression that they were just really good friends, although there were hints that it was more than just friendship…he was always driving her car for instance, but I just said huh, wierd and moved on.
Fast forward to yesterday morning, when she calls me out of the blue sobbing because they just spent the night at the police station. And then the revelations just keep coming…he was sleeping with a married woman, the woman’s husband followed them back to her place and came to warn her about it, my friend almost attacked this man, it’s something she had been suspicious about for some time. I was blindsided!
I was also swamped at work and couldnt fully handle it, so I offered to call her that night, she agreed, but we never did speak last night. I did tell her though that although he was a good friend and I had never seen this side she was telling me about, if she was so unhappy about the way things were she should leave.
My dilemma is, should I tell my friend that she called me?
I feel so bad that I haven’t. I don’t want to be caught even further in the middle, but she was so distraught I don’t want to betray her confidence either. But he was my friend first.
