For what it’s worth I don’t think it looks Victorian at all and the color looks very bridal.  It is classic and beautiful and fits you perfectly.  Your husband will be blown away when he sees you!  You can easily go modern/classic with veil/hair/earrings/possibly a belt. Also agree with PP that you can get a small petticoat that only flares at the bottom (below the knee), but it looks great even without it.

You  look so tall, slender and elegant in your dress. I think the objective reaction from anyone looking at your picture and reading your post is one of dismay… How could you possibly feel unhappy in that beautiful dress? It suits you so well and you have lovely shoulders to show off. If only we all had the capacity to look that elegant. The simplicity of the style gives off a vibe of effortless elegance. It’s as though you just slipped on the dress and voila…instant bridal goddess!

Something to give more volume to the bottom of the dress would be fine but I really think a  belt would just disrupt the “clean” lines of your dress. How about topping it with a beautiful necklace? Perhaps an elegant strand of pearls with a diamonte clasp. Keep it classy. Keep it classic.

Don’t forget that your bouquet will add another dimesion altogehter. Think about an elongated trailing one. I love those with elegant dresses.

PP above is right about  the bouquet.  Also  I do agree , don’t get the ubiquitous sparkly  belt -or any belt – it will spoil the beautiful   line .

Just in regards to your feeling that it’s not “white” enough – true white is actually really hard to wear. I thought I wanted a properly white dress, but it actually really washed me out and made me look sallow. I know we all have different skin tones, but the slightly warmer tone is really soft against your skin. Very few dresses are true white for this reason!

katie105 :  I definitely don’t think it looks “Victorian” or old fashioned! It is a slightly more traditional dress with the lace, but it’s also body hugging which is more sexy and modern. And you look STUNNING in it! It’s seriously so gorgeous on its own. Idk about a belt or petticoat, to me this is just hands down perfect and I agree with the other bees that a belt could disrupt the gorgeous clean lines. But maybe a statement necklace or bolero will jazz it up for you!!
