Wow this thread got uncomfortable fast!
Truth be told, I’d be really happy with a sapphire – even if I always envisioned a diamond. I’m just frustrated I keep changing my mind and in turn – he isn’t sure what to get me anymore and is just watching me vacillate LOL. We just know its OVAL! hahah and probably a sapphire.
Sapphires are very lovely and a very normal engagement ring to have. I don’t know why there is even any discussion over this?
Even if I did see a ring I think is YIKES, – I would never say so out loud here to hurt peoples feelings. It is pretty mean. You are better to apologize and move on.

amb1030: Omg, I thought the same thing earlier. I think she is liking her own comments!!

Reading OPs responses on other forums I’m not surprised at the way she responds to her own thread.
I think it’s okay to not like a ring but still appreciate what it stands for. I for one love my ring, designed it myself, oh and it’s not a diamond. I think it was very rude of you to say that certain jewelry should be outlawed, but you’re entitled to your own opinion. Just don’t expect others to react kindly.

amb1030: My comments are my comments. Why would you ask such an odd question? This is a forum. It is to express opinions ;not care if anylikes your comments or not.

ilovesophia: Look at that ring that poor Kate is wearing. William should have gotten her her own ring.

I am pretty sure Kate does not see it that way!

fluffybiscuit: Yep go tell the future Queen of England (a renowned style icon) that sapphires aren’t worthy of an engagement ring…
Anything that someone LIKES* and puts on their finger as a commitment to be married is an engagement ring. It could be a $2 ring from Walmart.
I feel sad for you that your idea of an e ring is so prescribed
*Well technically you could not like it and it could be an engagement ring, but you know what I mean

oh yes, poor Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. Let us weep for her.

I can’t believe a lot of bees here didn’t like the erings that their Fiance picked out! Should I consider myself super lucky then? My then-FI now-DH chose my ering himself, it was a bold move on his side cos he chose a unique floral-inspired design which is totally me! Also I love the fact that he did a ton of research on diamonds for at least a few months before he chose a particular diamond & setting for my ering. He was really into the whole ering reseach & purchase process and he felt so proud when I told him that I love my ering so much & that I wouldn’t want to change it, not even for an upgrade!

fluffybiscuit: oh honey, I’m not bitter I’m just trying to help. It’s so sad you married an idiot who got you something that should be outlawed. He doesn’t appreciate your classic taste so you two are clearly incompatible and should divorce immediately. The other issue here is that that this problem has been bothering you for years but both have you haven’t figured out the simple solution of buying a new ring, which means you need intellectual help or assistance managing your finances.
It is so sad that you’ve suffered through this for years. Please, divorce the idiot that got you such a terrible ring, and get a financial advisor to help you save for a new one. Good luck!
