Ugh, I’m sorry. I’m with you on the vows as very important. We’re not getting married in a church (neither of us is religious, though) and I love the freedom it gives us. My Future Sister-In-Law wanted to have the traditional “here comes the bride” march but was not allowed to by her Lutheran church.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a problem and I am glad your Fiance was willing to compromise. If this was important to him, it sounds like you were more than willing to accomodate his request within reason. As my Fiance and I were both raised Catholic and have been to lots of Catholic weddings, we sort of knew the “rules” going in, but if you were not prepared for that it can come as a shock. I hope you find a beautiful new site.

Wow I am sorry they are being inflexible. However, I think you were lucky to find a Catholic church that would allow the ceremony to take place being that you are not Catholic. This happened to by ex brother in law. He wanted to marry his ex girlfriend and basically they were told they could not marry in a Catholic  church because he was not Catholic. They do have strict rules. Well, at least they do in my neck of the woods.
