because really it doesn’t matter.
My Future Father-In-Law suddenly died of a massive heart attack over this weekend. He will never see his children get married or the birth of his first grandchild. He will never grow old with his wife of 35 years. He will never get to walk me down the aisle or dance with his wife again. He will never be able to play poker with his friends. He will never be able to retire and ride his motorcycles everywhere. He will never be able to take his children & grandchildren on the first Disney trip. He will never be able to take a vacation with his family again, he will never hear the words “I love you” again.
And worst of all we will never be able to enjoy his company or hear his laughter.
Please don’t fret that you can’t find your perfect dress, that this bridesmaid is pissing you off or someone isn’t enjoying you talk of your wedding because really…it doesn’t matter. The only thing that should matter is that you and your loved ones are there to celebrate your love for each other not what dress you have, dinner plates or the money you are spending.

I’m sorry to hear about your Future Father-In-Law. Sudden losses are always the most shocking. My thoughts are with you and yours : (
My dad was taken from me suddenly when I was only 8 years old. I’ve had to go through several milestones without him. I find worrying about the little things takes my mind off the saddness that my dad’s going to miss something else. If I didn’t stress over the small things, I’d probably be too depressed to get married.

I’m so sorry. Death never happens at the “right” time, but what a terrible time for you, your Fiance, and your family. I’ll pray for you. You’re right, in the grand scheme it is all small stuff!

This is so terribly sad. It’s so unfortunate that sometimes it takes a life-shattering event to really put things into perspective. I am so sorry for the loss of you and your loved ones.
