I was convinced the 4 days of spotting was implantation bleeding. I was sad when AF arrived and she was late.
I stopped BCP in June and started on a regular 28 days cycle right away with no problems.
At the very end of October we started TTC. I never spotted before, but a day before AF was due, spotting. Now in our 2nd cycle of trying, I spotted 4 days before AF came.
Is the spotting related to TTC? Any reason why the spotting started since I started TTC? Is something wrong? Anyone else experience something like this?
Also, I do have a fibroid slightly bigger than my fist outside my uterus. But gyn and specialist said the location shouldn’t cause any problems getting pregnant.

@ajillity81: hmm. Do you chart by any chance? Having more information about your temps, O-dates, and LP length could be helpful here. Spotting before AF can sometimes be due to low progesterone, and charting info could back up that theory or also tell you that it’s unlikely that you have low progesterone and that it might be something else

@IAmTheShadow: i don’t chart. gyn said go 3 first and have fun with it. it has been 2 cycles so i am going to start temping this cycle.
i just find it strange that i never spotted before and since TTC, it has happened both months.
thanks for your insight.

@ajillity81: I’ve also had some unusual stuff going on since we started TTC. (Temps not being what they normally are, cycles being more variable, etc.) I joked with Darling Husband that his stuff was messing up my lady parts. 🙂
Have you had any other health changes? Changes in diet, stress level, anything? I don’t know how this would relate to spotting, but my Vitamin D levels go WAY down in winter due to the lack of sunlight. Perhaps it’s something along those lines?
Bottom line, your doc is going to be the best bet for figuring this out. And I do think charting can be helpful, especially in situations like this. Good luck, and FX that you get the spotting stopped soon – how annoying that must be!

My cycle was pretty normal, but got totally wonky once we started TTC. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve read about a lot of women who have the same experience. I agree that charting might be helpful if your confusion continues!

Some months I have had spotting in the days leading up to AF. I stopped the BCP in June too, and the spotting happens like every other month. I talked to my gyno about it- she said it’s very normal, but could be a sign of low progesterone in some cases. If I dont have a sticky pregnancy by the 1 year TTC month, she tests for that in blood tests.
The first couple of times I got it, i thought it was implantation bleeding and got very excited. Ive since learned that spotting before your period is much more common than implantation bleeding, and I don’t get my hopes up anymore.

@IAmTheShadow: @kate02121: @CityBearBride:
thanks for all the feedback. i plan to call my gyn on monday and ask what’s up.
i’m supposed to call after 3 cycles anyway if i don’t get a BFP before that. so maybe more information will help.
