Just a short synopsis-
I bought my dress at a sample sale at the Tifany’s Bridal booth at a bridal conference last fall. I brought my dress in a month ago for my first fitting. I didn’t hear from them for a month, their phones were “down” and their email – according to the sales clerk – was down because of wiring. Or a bug. Or the tech guy. She gave us three stories. The bridal shop was closed without notice for a week due to “heating problems” so when I was finally able to get into the shop to ask for my dress in person, we found out that my dress was three hours out of the city at the seamstresses still.
My dress finally made it back into the city later that day, and when I went to pick it up yesterday, the straps were so short I couldn’t get my shoulders through them, the sides were taken in and bunched so it looked like I had some mad side boob going on, she gave me old yellow foam “cups” to try out that she “found”, the peaks where my straps were supposed to be attached were in my arm pits and they put a french bustle at some weird place when I had asked for a three point bustle. I was going to leave it there anyway, just because they were obviously halfway through the job (I really hope), when another family walked in and started in on the sales clerk about how they had ordered a brides dress six months ago. They were told that it would be in “tomorrow” every time they called. When it finally came in last week, apparently the owner had come in and “accidently taken it home”. And the sales clerk refused to call the owner and ask her to bring it back. This bride had to go out of town again until three days before the wedding, and had yet to see her dress or get alterations. Her wedding day is September 4th.
Needless to say, I took my dress and ran. Now I just need to find someone willing to fix what they did.
Just don’t do it. Don’t to go Tifany’s Bridal.
