@Mrs Scott to be:🙂 That’s why I only talk about it on the bee–unless someone else brings it up first. (I know I have a hard time shutting up about it once I start.)

I don’t think it’s right to judge people on their budget or time spent, but it doesn’t bother me to be reminded that it’s one day.  I think it kept me grounded to remember that the wedding is a one day celebration, while the marriage is the thing that lasts.  Especially when I was overstressed about details!  I’m sorry people are bugging you about your budget and hard work, that’s not right.

Lol, yep, and I’m a budget bride! People ASSUME that because we have the money, we’re going to spend it, so they automatically throw in their “You know, spending all that money and time on one day, blah blah blah.” I just smile and keep my mouth shut, even though in my head I’m screaming “YOU HAVE NO IDEA ANYTHING ABOUT MY WEDDING!” 🙂 The only people off the bee I talk to about it are my Fiance, Mom, Maid/Matron of Honor and BMs.

I think it’s a very important day and will spend what I think is reasonable (and everyone’s view of this and reality is different) so I think to judge is ridiculous and generally pointless. If I wanted to spend $100 or $100,000 it’s really no one’s concern.

It doesn’t bug me. It really is just one day. Yes, it’s a very important day, and I don’t think there should be judgement surrounding it (especially not on the amount of time you spend planning!), but I am a fan of perspective.

I agree… This one day is something I have been waiting for for 9 years (length of time we have been together)… it will be 10 when we finally get married.

It depends on the context. Money-wise it’s annoying. But if it’s a case of, “OMG what is my cousin/friend/sibling thinking getting married within three months of me?!” Then I think they totally need the one day reminder.

Whoops, I just told this to another bride in a different thread…sometimes it’s kinda true though, right?
