We are really struggling with your choice of favors. I don’t want to pick something meaningless and boring that will just be left at the tables at the end of the night. I’ve been to so many weddings where the favor was just really an afterthought and ended up being a waste of time and money.
We don’t want to do that.
But I do want everyone to have an awesome time and I want the opportunity to thank everyone for coming to our wedding.
So we have been looking into the idea of hiring a donut cart for the end of the night. It actually seems like a ton of fun to me. Each guest would get a bag with four hot, just made, mini-donuts and then they have their choice of different kinds of sugar to put on them (powdered, chocolate, cinnnamon, ect).
Would you think this would be a fun atlernative as a favor?
We are serving cupcakes as the “cake” so this is not meant to be dessert it’s meant to be the favor.
Thanks everyone 🙂

Ummm… I don’t know about everyone else, but I would LOVE donuts as a favor. Or even not as a favor. Now I want donuts, thanks :/

Is this a real question? Heck yeah that sounds like a great idea mmmm donuts.

Will people want to eat donuts after the meal you’re serving them? Because hot, just-made mini donuts sound amazing but if I wasn’t hungry and I took them home and ate them cold the next day they would be less appealing.

I think it sounds like a great idea!!

Yum yum yum, I’d eat them right then. I had a friend who had a pile of Krispy Kreme donuts as the groom’s cake. It wasn’t finished, but it was a hit

@March1stBride: Love it! Makes me think of the local Exhibition in the summer! Mmmm… powdered sugar!
Lots of people do a late night sweet table even if they serve cake, this is kind of a fun alternative.

Well I guess donuts are a hit 🙂 Thanks everyone!
@atreyu547: This made me laugh at my desk! OMG so funny!
@FutureDrAtkins: Coffee is a great idea! Maybe those starbucks flavored coffees? You know what I mean the ones in the glass bottle from the grocery store? Maybe with bottles of milk too incase anyone does not like coffee. I want it to be portable so that is people do decide they want to take it for later they can.
@LaPetiote: This is my biggest hesitation. The whole point is that they are hot and fresh. But dinner will be served at 5 followed by 3 hours of dancing and drinking. The reception ends at 9 so I was going to have the donut cart come out at 8:30. Do you think that will be enough time for everyone to be hungry enough for donuts?
