The Mayan thing has been disputed left and right – the biggest being that they didn’t account for leap years, so by their calendar, the date has already passed long ago.

And I really don’t believe the world will just suddenly end in a single day. That just doesn’t happen. Even if there was something like a meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs, it would strike in one region and take a while to affect the rest of the world.

And I’m not religious, so I also don’t believe in any of the end time prophecies.

It’s not an “end of the world” thing, and the Mayans would probably think that all these people getting up in arms over it are being ridiculous.  It’s just a change.

it’s the end of the Mayan Calander and then they start a new one, their calenders start from zero every 5126 years or something like that, and if the mayans were so awesome then why did they not predict that they would be wiped out…………….

TV is just hyping it because it might get them some ratings. For me Y2k had people more up in arms than this one, and that was a bit of a bust now wasn’t it 😉

nah. thats a load of crapola. I don’t think anything is gonna happen. But my grandmother, who is super religious and really gets scared of all this kind of stuff, made me start wearing a scapular (sp?) yesterday. *sigh* I mean its not a bad thing, I do have strong faith so wearing it isn’t the problem, its why she wants me to wear it. She bought one for everyone in the immediate family and said we all have to at least keep them on until sunday because if we all do die, if you wear this particular thing you supposedly get a free pass into heaven. She’s a religiously old school mexican lady 🙂 So to make my grams happy I put the thing on.

so, i got my heaven fast pass, some flamin hot cheetos and netflix. im all ready for friday.

The world will end someday but no one can predict it. It’s not going to be in our lifetime and people need to stop with the ridiculousness of trying to predict it. And if it will end there is nothing we can do about it. I find it pathetic when “prophets” predict the end of the world and then when it doesn’t happen they say “oh yeah I mis calculated. the real end of the world is on….”
