I’m going through what you feel you may end up going through. I have a single halo but it has a tripple shank and it’s pretty big and i’m annoyed bc probably can’t play with bands like i wanted and i just feel it’s tacky now :(…loved it at first size fit’s our lifestyle we have good income. but now I just feel it’s too much and possibly tacky πŸ™ I would say get something you will forever be in love with! something that’s not jsut the style now… love Solitares can’t go wrong with that, and there’s some really pretty double halo’s now that doesn’t look like overkill. but if you like big! go big but i’ve seen double halos that didn’t seem big ! Here’s my ring sorry not too much of your description but i have the feelings you think you will have down the line.

alone:

with a band

double halos are beautiful if your getting a smaller stone to begin with then it wont be overwhelming..

bbforreal :  Thank you! I love it as well! The only thing that irks me is the gap between it and my band because of the setting.

I say double all the way, the only place people don’t like it is here, in real life it is admired. More importantly we love it.  Go with what makes your heart sing !! Can’t add a pic as it keeps telling me something about the server…… Techno phobe !!!! Mine is my profile pic

I love my double halo.  Mrsbear2be is spot on.  It’s trashed talked on here but not in real life.  I rarely received compliments on my ring as a solitare and then after I had it set as a double halo, I get several compliments a week.

I have a double halo but it’s pave’s so it’s big-ish but not tacky. I love it!! Mine is a round 2.1 ct center  with I think 1.75 ct pave

I won’t be officially engaged til this weekend but I snuck it out of the box the other day 😜

And please excuse my nails. I have gotten them done since this was taken πŸ’…πŸΌ Lol

I personally don’t care for double halos — I don’t think they will stand the test of time, either. But, it’s your ring. Single halos have been around since the early 1800s and are a safer bet. You can always get a double halo ring for an RHR later – they don’t need a big center stone  and are trendy right now so you can probably get one on sale around the holidays
