- Wedding: June 2012
So I am doing the majority of the wedding planning because my Fiance and I are both military but he is currently away and I am not. However I am encountering two huge problems. The first deals with the registry. We agreed that a registry would not be needed because we have no need for the traditional gifts…we move constantly. I know it is very tacky to ask for cash but is there a way to do this? Is it more acceptable because of our situation? On to the second issue, his family is very very large and mine is very very small. Our wedding is extremely lopsided which is somewhat awkward. The problem is he wants his whole family to be there and my father (who is paying for the majority of the wedding) does not want this many people. I will not ask his parents to pay for things (I also do not want him to ask them) and do not expect them to but if they volunteered we would gladly accept. How do we address this lopsidedness and budget issues? Any advice…has anyone encountered similar problems?
