wonderlily :  do not double up on them. they are so strong..there is a reason why you can only use them twice a year. my front tooth actually chipped a few days after using them.

Yeah, don’t do it… I have never doubled up on them myself, so can’t comment on that, but doing so is dangerous for your teeth. Also, there is such a thing as TOO white teeth, you know? 🙂

If you have really bad staining due to smoking, or being a coffee/tea drinker, I would try a better product as the white strips have minimum results. Definitely dont double up though and as someone said, there is such a thing as going overboard.

I have found using white strips in conjunction with brushing with actual baking soda on my regular toothpaste/toothbrush combo gives an extra boost to the whitening process. I just sprinkle a little on my brush and use as normal, it helps polish your teeth gently. Otherwise, you run the risk of having some major tooth discomfort, if not worse.

Don’t do it! Your teeth can look too white in photographs! Not to mention the sensitivity…

I wouldn’t double up, but I think there is a level higher than those from Crest – maybe Professional Strength? (sold in stores, not dentist)…I have pretty white teeth to begin with, but I use about 10 strips twice a year for a touch up and my teeth get REALLY white …I am so glad I did it before my wedding, my teeth look great in all my pictures!

wonderlily :  Don’t do it is my advice as well. For my wedding I used the 2hr whitening strips from crest (one time thing) but I don’t think they sell them anymore, they worked and whitened my teeth bueatifully for the wedding. My advice is to skip drinking red wine, coffee, tea, and smoking (if you do) for now or drink the bevarages through a straw so as not to continue staining your teeth for the next two weeks. Also, brush your teeth with baking soda, I heard that helps whiten them as well 🙂

If you’re going to go the baking soda route, mix into a paste with peroxide for an extra whitening boost. Use caution with this though. A few times wont hurt anything but going overboard can damage healthy tooth enamel.

I highly recommend brushing with raw activated organic charcoal; I bought mine on Amazon. After a week a notified a HUGE difference.

wonderlily :  Yes, make a paste out of toothpaste, baking soda, peroxide and a little water – works really well! Brush with it, and let it sit for a couple mins… but don’t let any sit on your gums – it may bleach them (which if you do accidentally leave a little on, the whiteness of your gums will go away in a few hours, but it kinda hurts). Also only do this once a day for a few days, it will hurt if you do it more than once a day or if you use it for a long period.

And there is regular sensitivity, and there is sensitivity that is unbearable. I did this whitening kit once by Rembrandt – it was a 2 hour whitening kit..where you used trays and gel for 15 mins at a time over a 2 hour period.. and let me tell ya, it worked – my teeth were very white (they weren’t horrible before, but it was a very noticeable difference), but there is no way in hell I would ever use it again because of how bad my teeth hurt after. I had extreme sensitivity for almost a week – the first 2-3 days were so bad that I could hardly sleep. They weren’t just sensitive to hot/cold, but ached so badly all the time.

I think you should totally not do that.

Like I don’t even need to read your post, only the title. Please don’t.

I agree with daisylover77!

I have tried just about everything.  dental tray from the dentist and crest white strips.  they all made my teeth very sensitive and had to stop using it.

few months before my wedding my best friend introduced me to activated charcoal!  my husband and I both used it and saw a different in just a few use.  we love the product!  it makes my teeth feel super clean, like when you just get out of dental office when you get your teeth cleaned.  not only its way cheaper, its all natural and non-toxic.  I highly recommend it!

the brand we used is called Gold Mountain Beauty Tuxedo tooth powder – http://www.goldmountainbeauty.com

we use their all natural charcoal toothpaste now to keep it up
