(Closed) double vision?? what's normal?

@MissPatience:  If you are seeing double when you have both eyes open, I would definitely see an eye doctor. I can’t say what you can do to fix it, but it’s definitely not normal! I would see an opthalmologist, not just an eyeglass guy.

@MissPatience:  Just to clarify, its happening when you’re looking straight ahead right? Not to one side?

@MissPatience:  From what I’m reading on the internet, it sounds like your eyes are misalligned (because of an issue with the nerves or muscles), which can be corrected/treated with surgery or glasses. If it was happening when you try to look to one side, then it could be Duane’s syndrome (which clearly its not). I would go to an eye doctor and they should be able to sort it out for you.

ETA: I only mentioned Duane’s Syndrome because I can confidently rule it out for you and the internet has lots of scary things on it so its nice to know that one of them isn’t what you have.

A prism placed into glasses should correct the problem.
