Our wedding will take place around the hottest time of the year so I had in mind for light meats – fish, white meats, etc. During our tasting selection, the veal ended up being quite tough and the chicken wasn’t the most appealing. As steak might be too heavy and a fair few of our guests didn’t eat it for religious reasons, we immediately dismissed it. Which left the only meat being lamb.
So for mains it was to alternately serve fish and lamb.
Now that I’m talking to a fair few people about our choices, I’m getting a lot of opinions that both fish and lamb may not be the most appealing (and quite smelly at that). I’m starting to freak out, as its a very expensive reception and I don’t know what else to do.
What do you think about these main meal choices?

You know your guests and their preference… Personally I would have chosen steak and chicken.

@blinx: I’d ditch the lamb in favor of chicken or beef. Lamb is something that has more limited appeal. Fish has broader appeal than lamb. Could your venue make some changes to the chicken or beef to make it more to your taste? Some caterers and chefs will make adjustments.
