My mother and aunt have told me that the package we got for our October wedding (morning) is too much food and that we should downgrade it to just cocktail hour and buffet. I don’t even know if that’s possible. It doesnt say anything about changes in my contatract. It only talks about cancellations. Has anyone else done this before? Will they even let me change my contract at this point?

@ericathetechdiva: I think it really depends on your venue. I’ve heard of downgrading to less people for the same price, but with nicer things. I would give them a call and see what they say, good luck!

@ericathetechdiva: Venues have different policies…I would definitely contact them to see if they can downgrade your wedding package. It won’t hurt to ask 😉

Thank you for the responses. Here is an update. I was not able to downgrade but we were able to go to a tasting and set up, as well as talk through what the menus look like with our venue. It’s not going to be too much food. There really is no such thing as too much food for a wedding. I can opt to have a lighter cocktail hour which is what we are going to do and then move the rest of the stations into the wedding party and skip the sit down entrees.
We will let people mingle and pick, its the same price but with more options, and we can pick less heavy dishes for the stations.
