Were using areas of Griffith Park and the Observatory! Very excited! =)

I found using “Google” and searching for “LACMA Engagement Pictures” or phrases like that will take you to photog blogs to see what areas other couples used and went to, then you can see if you like it and if its something your photog will like to do!

Im still looking for suggestions in that area for back up purposes! =)

My husband and I recently stayed in downtown LA and the place we stayed at offered a picture taking opportunity on their rooftop helipad!  It was fun and offered some gorgeous views.  I dunno if you wanna pay the cost for the package, but I figure I would throw it out there.  You can feel free to check out the pics that I took here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157627406099316/

Another thought is the La Brea Tar Pits.  They aren’t downtown, but it’s gorgeous there and they are right next to LACMA!  Here’s a link to my pics from our recent trip there:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157627281405413/  Defo get pics at the lamp posts.  Those are SO awesome!!

I recommend Angels Flight or the Music Center.  Union station is awesome, but pics are not allowed.  🙁  The California Water court has some great sculptures and fountains.  The Belvedere hotel is pretty, and the Biltmore is freaking AMAZING.  (But you might not be allowed to take pictures there.)  The Edison building on 5th/Grand has a gorgeous lobby.  DEFINITELY the Library on 5th/Flower, especially the garden, as it is just gorgeous, with a lovely little fountain.

I was going to start a thred similar to this! I know there are some great places in the art district, not sure of the streets but if you google arts distric you should be able to find it.  Does anyone have any ideas where you can get the skyline in the background? We got engaged in Downtown so we wanted to include the sky line! I found this pic and I would love to know where it is.  I contacted the photographer but they did not respond.  Thanks

The 2nd street tunnel is very sparkly and is used in a ton of commercials, music videos, movies, photo shoots etc. Every time I drive through it I almost crash because I’m in a daze!

Disney Music Hall is a very cool place to shoot!

here’s some wedding photos – http://www.mywedding.com/blog/wp-content/gallery/linperpixel/bride-groom-walt-disney-concert-hall.jpg

more wedding photos at the bottom of this post (very pretty) – http://www.kimlephotography.com/blog/2011/07/01/quyen-austin-los-angeles-engagement/

a lot of fashion editorials are shot there as well – http://www.x17online.com/celebrities/kristen_stewart/k_stew_sizzles_in_vogue-05262010.php

There’s also an adbandoned zoo in LA that my friend once shot at, kinda a creepy location but there are some cool photo ops if your into the rustic look –

The LACMA is a beautiful place to shoot, I used to live across the street actually! I would definitely take a ton of photos in front of the street light installation! – LOVE THIS – definitely my favorite

If your shooting the LACMA you’ll be in more of the West Hollywood area so I would suggest maybe shooting at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood 🙂

I’ll let you know if I think of anything else. I worked as a stylist for a while so I’m trying to refresh my memory 🙂

xx Leslie
