I’m looking to drape either fabric or something in the ceiling of my vendor. Does any one know where I could buy the fabric or what’s the name of the type of fabric I would use? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I posted a picture of my venue so you can see the ceiling to get give me suggestions…

You’re lucky! You have all those open beams to hang draping from, instead of having to string up your own support system.
You can use tulle, chiffon, theater scrim, muslin- or any other fabric you like that is reasonable in price.
You can drape out from the center of the room:
or across the beams:

I used chiffon for all our draping. I found our fabric at a swapmeet. If you happen to have one, I recommend that. Otherwise, search for a wholesale vendor. Chiffon can get pretty expensive if you have to pay regular prices at a Joanns.

I also second the use of chiffon. Since it’s gauzy, it’ll still let the light in and it’s flowy with the wind. I think that it might be surprising how much fabric you will need to cover it all though, so it might be pretty expensive. Have you measured how high the ceiling is? and how wide?
The draping can also be pretty tricky too. You can do other hanging, like those tissue pom poms (Martha Stewart) or fabric pennants on a string, etc.

Here’s a source: http://www.rosebrand.com/subcategory176/fabric-by-use-event-display-decorative.aspx
note the width of some of the fabrics allows you to rip them in half or even thirds lengthwise which reduces the amount of fabric you will need
