@luciaayala23:  That has regret written all over it. Are those the kind of pictures you want to look back on when you’re 40? Maybe they are, but I sure wouldn’t want purple hair at a formal life milestone.

Seriously, it’s 5 months away. Why even consider this? You’ve never dyed your hair so it seems a bit strange you’d go with purple right before your wedding. If you waited 21 years, what is another few months?

@luciaayala23:  Bleaching changes the texture of your hair, so it’ll be more prone to breakage. I suggest you wait until after the wedding.

The upkeep on hair that color would be tremendous…to keep it looking good you’d have to go back to the salon every 6 weeks or so. If you want to experiement with hair color, so something a little more natural first, rather then stripping and bleaching your hair.

Why not try clip in extensions for now? I have some hot pink extensions that I put on every once in a while. No damage.

@luciaayala23:  def wait.  Its called the “post wedding chop” and i just did it.  I changed hair colours and took 5 inches off my hair!! I love it but it would not have looked right for pictures and you dont want to do anything drastic before the wedding.

believe me i get you. i was aching to do this to my hair back in the spring but i held off.

Let us know what you decide

@luciaayala23:  i am glad that you are going to wait.  trust me, i have dark brown hair and many years ago i had it bleached out and dyed many times, yes, even purple.  it ruins your hair.  i’m sure it will look great after the wedding.

@luciaayala23:  I might be late coming to this but I had lavender hair all of last year. I’m dark brown usually. I started off with bra strap length and by the time I got to all over lavender I had to cut it to my shoulders. My hair is now wrecked from the bleach. I also had to colour it with lavender dye once a week to stop it fading. It looked awesome though, if you’re willing to put up with the damage and dying then go for it but I would maybe wait until after the wedding.

Its a cool idea, but like others have said I would wait.  If you have dark hair it’ll have to be completely bleached to a white blonde, then you may have to wait a little bit for your hair to strengthen again and then have the lavendar applied.  Then when you want to go back to brown it’ll be another lengthy process and you probably won’t have your natural hair colour.  Wait till summer time.  Lavendar would look so cute with all the summer clothes and what not.

Yes, please wait! I had a bd experience with dye a long time ago, so I do not do it… You can never be sure how it will come out. It is not worth the risk!

As PPs have said, this will not work out well, it can take many rounds of bleaching to get dark hair light enough, and your hair will just not be the same again! If you’re really craving the color in the meantime, you could try hair chalk/hair pastels, or a nice wig. (Arda’s a good brand for this)

Wait. If your hair is dark it means they’ll have to bleach it to get it light enough to be lavender.  Then you’ll have to spend time going back to your natural shade and there’s no guarantees they’ll get it right.
