My first offical fitting is this Friday, and I’m dreading it, when my dress first came in I tried it on and it didn’t fit :(, it was too small. Mind you that was without any shapewear and without my steel boned corset that brings my waist in 3 inches, but regardless I am not looking forward to something that I thought would be fun with people fawning over me and such.
Anyway I just wanted to whine, and see if people wanted to share similar stories and see if everything turned out for them, I need some alteration inspiration to keep my hopes up!

@Sassy9226: My dress came in too small as well and I was so worried I’d need an alternate size. My seamstress fixed it up by the next time I saw her and it fit like a completely different dress! All she did was change some of the internal structure and it fit sooo much better. Have faith in your seamstress – they work wonders!!

Thanks. I am pretty sure that it can be fixed without to much fuss. I just need to remind myself of that when I try it on and it doesn’t work.
Anyone else have any stories?

I am a street size 26/28. The biggest dress they had was a 32. I didn’t fit in it 🙁 At my first fitting they talked about the things they were going to do with the stuff inside of it to make it fit me, but I was highly doubtful. When I went to my fitting yesterday, the dress still didn’t look right. I was so disappointed. However, in about 10 minutes time they went up under the dress and did things that made it work perfectly. It now zips! Seamstresses know what they are doing and are excellent at making it flow exactly the way that you want it to. I know how depressing it is, but keep up the faith.
