I dread it. I didn’t before, but recently, it seems I look like a chipmunk with all these cheeks! I don’t know how my cheeks got so big.

I HATE having my picture taken.  I can’t smile, I look nervous, I always look fat…UGH.  I have no idea how to help you!

If you are uncomfortable with taking photos, your smile and aren’t sure what to do I highly recommend just messing around with a friend and having your pictures taken. The best way to ensure great photos is to know your angles and how you like yourself best.

A good photographer can make a world of difference too.  If you are comfortable with the photographer, and they are smiling and joking with you it can help alot.  Also- ask whoever is taking the photo to smile at you, and ask friends/parents to stand where you can see and have them smile at you.  If you are smiling in response to someone it will look a lot more natural.

I think the worst thing that you can do is go in with a bad mentality. The more you tell yourself that you don’t look good in photos, the more nervous you will get about it and the more uncomfortable and unnatural you will look in your pictures. Just try to be as natural as possible, and try not to work yourself up about it or think too hard about the way that you look while the photos are being taken. The pics will come out better that way, and you will have a better experience all-around. I’m sure they will be fantastic! 🙂

Don’t try too hard to pose or put on a smile that you think will look best. Just put on your most natural smile and think about something happy instead of planning your pose while the picture is being taken. My worst photos happen when I’m trying the hardest, and my favorite photos are ones where I wasn’t even thinking about it.
