So Ive already posted about how i hate how i looked on my wedding day (wont go into that again). Now im dreading seeing the professional pics, i mean i literally do not want to see them. I loved my photogs and think they are super skilled, but cmon they cant work magic when someone doesnt look good. Im so tempted to just ignore them when they come in. Because I felt so much better about my wedding day look before i saw all the pictures friends and family posted on FB. I wish all the photos could be erased and I wouldve never seen how i truly looked. Whats a girl to do…. look at the pics and become more depressed or ignore them like they dont exist?

what’s wrong with the pictures you have already seen?

Obviously, you should look at the pictures. I hated the way I looked in many of the non-pro pictures as well. I almost always hate pictures of myself anyway and the non-pro pics looked like regular, non-photogenic me in a wedding dress. The pro pictures, on the other hand, were absolutely stunning. I look amazing in just about every one of them, as does everything else. I fell in love with my wedding all over again by looking at my pro pictures. Here’s a great example of the difference:

@londonchick: MY dress doesnt fit how i thought it would and is not at all flattering and i was unhappy with my hair :/
@peasantsong: I totally see your point and the pro one is of course way better, but honestly you look just as beautiful in the non pro, just you have your eyes closed lol. I don;t think even the magic of the pros can help me! And honestly its just been SO depressing for me to see the other picutes, i dont think i can handle anymore, im in a total funk because of it

I was TERRIFIED of looking at the pro pics from my wedding(I have body image issues…) but my advice is; just do it!

I would get yourself into a better mental place before looking through the picutres. It sounds like you’ve got a lot of self esteem issues that need to be dealt with. Regardless of the wedding and photos. But trust me when I say nobody is being as critical of this as you are. We’re always our harshest judge. What did you fiance think about how you looked on your wedding day?!?

@MrsJoyful80: thanks for the advice 😉
@JenGirl: I really dont have self esteem issues, just can be honest with myself when i dont look good haha. i know i am being critical, but its my wedding day after all, i just wanted to look my best 🙂 Just dealing with the initial let down and disappointment is all i guess. I think like u said in my other post, probably best to focus on memories and not how i looked and not look at pics

@MrsJoyful80: this is why i’m sacred to go wedding dress shopping. i dont want to look fat in a wedding dress.

Awww I’m so sorry you feel the way you do. 🙁 I would just suck it up and look at them, I mean you paid so much to get them done so why not? Photographers know all about lighting, angles, placement, etc so I’m sure they will be MUCH better than the non-pro ones. I’m sure they’re gorgeous, especially since I saw your other post with pictures and you look great. We all judge ourselves way too harshly.

Dearest, i bet you will be so surprised when you see the professional photos…i WAS! I looked like a Diva and i still do not like my looks on my wedding day..
@peasantsong: If that is not a screaming endorsement for pro photographers ad yours specifically I don’t know what is.

@axeyourmakeupkit: but isnt that what the question is about?

I was really nervous to see mine as well. I had been so sweaty and felt like my hair had fallen apart. My dress was sticking to my torso and to my legs.
But the editing process worked wonders! You can check out my pictures in my profile for further proof!

@axeyourmakeupkit: What does it matter? It’s not like the OP was deciding on getting a pro or non-pro. She already hired one.
OP, I am terribly non-photogenic, and was dreading how I would look in my pictures. I have to say that I actually like how mine turned out.
You really should look, though. After all, you’ve already paid for them. What have you got to lose? Either you are correct and you hate them (which I highly doubt!) or you will be very pleasantly pleased with the results.

Sorry but if you don’t like the way you look in photos, why did you shell out for a professional photographer if you don’t think they can make you look good? I just don’t get it.
You haven’t even seen the photos yet so I would try to relax a bit. I am sure you don’t look bad. I have yet to see a bride who looked horrible on her wedding day! We’re all our own worst critics.
