Biologically, she’s justified to favor her own offspring.

Ethically, it’s a hard line to walk.  Unfortunately, she seems to have missed the idea of taking care of her husband’s kids from a previous marriage.

I think it’s important to remember that you (and everyone else) should treat all 3 kids fairly.  I’m sure you arleady know this, but ignoring the baby will cause more harm than good in the long run.

@edgebee:  Actually I totally get why this bothers you so much. You’re worried about the older kids! It’s worrying that she calls them HIS kids instead of THE kids. I mean, it makes sense to not try and step in and be their mother right off the bat, but they are now her kids too.  Ugh! I’m so with you. It makes me really mad when people don’t count their step kids.
