I went dress shopping today and I fell in love with the first dress that I tried on. I just love it so so much. I have googled a picture of it and keep looking at it.
The only thing is, it’s being discontinued at the end of next month. I could buy it, but it will mean dipping into my savings to buy it, which I cannot afford to do at the moment. I am also not getting married for two years, so there might be other dresses that are similar that could look just as nice on me.
What shall I do, bees?

@Lubylu89: 🙁 Which dress is it? See if the bridal salon will sell you the sample, they usually mark down the samples ~50%, especially if they’re discontinuing it.

I found my dream dress years before I got married, but as it turned out, once I actually went dress shopping, I found I liked a completely different sillhouette. You might love it now, but in two years, you’ll have way more options. It’s not a good idea to dip into your savings right now if you don’t need to.
YOu could also keep the picture and have a similar dress made if you are still hung up on it in 2 years. Don’t rush it. Besides, dress shopping is the most fun part, and you have plenty of time to enjoy it.

I purchased my gown about 1 1/2 years before our wedding date becuase I fell in love with it. I have never been sorry that I purchased it. That beind said, only you know your heart. If you are prone to changing your mind a lot, then don’t purchase it. If you are the type of person that once they get something in their head, they can’t let go of it, then do purchase it. Only you can make that decision.

Even if it does get discontinued, you may still be able to find it online by an individual seller on Ebay or something like that. So, even if you waited, you may still be able to get that dress online once your wedding date gets a little closer. If you see a ton of them available now, odds are you’ll probably be able to find it again later.
Just a suggestion!

I would probably wait. So much can change in two years (styles, your size, etc.)

I would wait. You may still be able to find it, and things may change in 2 years.

wait, you will find something else you like just as much if not more closer to your wedding.

Thanks, girls. It will probably wiser to wait, as it’s so long until the wedding.
I just love it so much. Being a plus size bride, it was literally the only dress that I actually liked on me and I tried on about twenty dresses in two different shops. Just can’t get it out of my head. I felt so special wearing it. My friend’s reactions were amazing, too.
@piperhallie: It’s Maggie Sottero DaVida. The sample size I tried on was a little too small, so even if the sample will be sold, it’s not much of an option. Thanks for the info, though.
Thanks for your replies.

I’m certain you’ll be able to find a dress that is just as stunning when you’re ready. Its a common shilouette and while the details may not be the same there are lots of options.
