I’ve had a few dream dresses before in different styles, but my latest crush was Pronovias Laren <3
however, it turned out to be completely not my style, didn’t look good on me
but then we found Pronovias Meret (2015) and I couldn’t be happier with my choice 🙂

I didn’t have my heart really set on any dream dress, but I definitely thought I would end up with a Ballgown of some kind with an embellished corset or fancy train, like this…
I ended up with a Maggie Sottero Larissa – which this model does not do any sort of justice to.

well…i had 3 dream dresses. the first one (or a similar silhouette) made me look preggo, the second made me look like a HOUSE, and the third one was boycotted by my mom (who was buying the dress) because she didn’t want me to look like a hippie on my wedding day…lol…so i chose something that made us both happy…last pic is me, my blu by mori lee 5108, and my precious flowergirl and god daughter 🙂

I went into dress shopping really wanting soft lace, a full but not overwhelming skirt, and blush if I could get it. My ideal, dream designer was Monique Lhuillier, with my favorites being Darling (Fall Winter 2013) and Candy (Spring Summer 2012). Searching for the dresses on preownedweddingdresses.com, however, told me that the full price of the dress was above even the highest budget that I could justify to myself, and even getting it second hand was not something I was super comfortable with, since it would still be pretty pricey and I would have to deal with altering an already altered gown.
While searching Pinterest and looking into dresses I liked, I came across Hayley Paige, and while initially I liked a lot of her designs, I didn’t think any of them were what I was looking for for myself. Many of them were very sparkly and fun – they definitely had the feel of what I wanted, but didn’t fit what I thought was my look. But I kept pinning more of her dresses, and I had my eye on a few styles when I had the chance to go to a Spring 2014 trunk show. The dress I had asked the shop to pull for me in advance ended up being my dress! And while I traded lace for sparkle, I think I actually ended up with something close to my original vision, just better! Here she is, in an editorial from Southern Weddings Magazine vol. 7 (I don’t have any good pics of me in my dress yet, since the bust needs to be altered smaller):

I had two dream dresses going in, both very opposite of each other. Chesney by Maggie Sottero and the polka dot beauty by Henry Roth!
Both were out of my price range. So instead I got this one, by Sincerity. Bridal store was closing, only one in store that semi fit, and only $100. Not a dream by far, but it works!

First one dream dress…second one what I got. Not sure how I ended up with such a different dress then what I envisioned. Still thinking of maybe adding a sleeved illusion jacket…

Asha by Maggie Sottero. Long discontinued, but I just loved it!
After trying on LOADS of dresses, I decided that I wanted something more… bridal(?)… than simple chiffon (although I still absolutely adore chiffon dresses and their flowiness).
My dress is Land by Pronovias. I received a call last week that my dress IS IN! I get to go pick it up on the 20th. I am so excited to see how it fits in my size!

Dream Dress. I’d look like an eejit in it (and nipples!) but I love the colours. Its a Valentino Gown. and 10K. My real dress is basically the opposite of that. Ivory and very very minimal.
