I wanted the dress that you wound up with.

I went into the salon with this picture in my hand, ready to purchase it. It was STUNNING! But something didn’t feel quite right.

So I went back about a week later with FI’s aunt and cousin, and the consultant urged me to try on a Mermaid gown. I was TOTALLY against the idea, but gave it a shot. I fell instantly in love, and that was it <3

me me me! i went in thinking i wanted a very specific style of dress- all lace with a keyhole back a la monique lhuillier’s ‘scarlet’.  i had two requests- absolutely no beading and no shiny material.  i tried on a few similar styles to the scarlet and i hated them all!  sadly, an all Alsace dress does not work on my body type.  i thought i exhausted all my options when the assistant brought in a wild card- a SHINY dress that had beading!  and what do you know, it was PERFECT!

@misssparklebee:  I originally wanted to get an A-line lace dress with sleeves which is what I originally purchased but then had a bit of dress regret because I didn’t love the dress. I went back to the bridal shop and tried on a beautiful organza ball gown with lace and loved the dress! I never thought I would be a ball gown kind of woman. πŸ™‚ But so glad I found a dress that I love rather than just like. πŸ™‚

Me!! I thought I wanted something simple, and just a little bit of bling. I knew I wanted a mermaid because of my body type.. well, I got a mermaid- but the top is all over lace. fell in love immediately <3 I even saw it online and thought I’d never like it, but the entourage made me try it. πŸ™‚

Surprisingly, I ended up with my budget dream dress. Obviously I could have gotten something more extravagent but I wanted to stay below $900 and I like simple things anyways. I always knew I wanted something with lots of tulle & a sweetheart neckline and this is what I ended with!

My dream wedding dress was the Maggie Sottero Alana dress. I wanted something fit and flare, with a bit of lace and this dress had everything I wanted. When I went to try on dresses they didn’t have the Alana dress but had some very similar dresses. It turns out that it didn’t look as good on me as I had hoped, and I wanted to love it so badly. But it just wasn’t it.

I tried on the allure 8901 and fell in love with this dress. I was a bit disappointed in a sense because I didn’t think a ballgown would look good on me and that it would drown me out. But this was ‘the dress’!!!

I went in thinking that I wanted a lace A-line dress (specifically, WToo Delphine) – and I really didn’t want a train.

And now, I’ve fallen in love with a fit & flare, organza, ruched, and ruffles gown (Allure 8966). And OMG, does it have a train which I LOVE.

Yep! Happened to me! πŸ™‚

This is what I thought was my dream dress. I was convinced a ballgown was the only solution to my pear shape to hide my hips

This is what I ended up with. A mermaid/sheath style. And low back too.. complete opposite to my usual conservative taste!

I was convinced I knew the only style dress that would work on me. It would be made of chiffon, empire waist, scoop neck, cap sleeves. I ended up with a lace strapless, natural waist dress that is gorgeous.
