If I could in good conscience have spent more than we did on our destination wedding, I would have treated our guests to more gatherings.  I would have paid for brunches and gotten the girls spa treatments.

@DCSquared: me too! i wanted one so bad – but marrying into a pretty catholic family i couldnt get out of having it in a church. I’m hoping one of our brothers and sisters will do a Destination Wedding so we can tag along haha.

unlimited you say? I think I would hire a really great event decorator and have him go to town! lol Tons more flowers..chic lounge area..hookah bar…10 course meal… and paid travel for all of my guests. I would have all of those extras that come after ‘you know what would be REALLY cool?!’ lol

I wanted my wedding to be in this castle in the mountains of vermont. I WAS SOOO CLOSE but it just wasnt practical to make everyone spend the money, If I could I would do it there.

I am having a Destination Wedding on the beach and that is honestly my dream wedding! Although, if I had an unlimited budget I would spring for more flowers and I would pay for everyone to get there 😀

The one thing I wish is that I could have ALL our friends and loved ones. I hate having to cut the list because of $ and venue size ;(

I would fly in SO’s entire family. And flowers everywhere! And Ladurée macaroons for dessert!

I wanted 3 very different kinds of weddings and ended up not being able to do any because of cost and weather!

1. wedding on the beach with lime and turquoise colors

2. wedding in the woods under thick trees with lanterns and fireflies

3. wedding in an old red barn in January with bridesmaids in sweater dresses and uggs and silver and black as he colors… lol

reason #1 was not okay was clearly the cost

reason #2 flopped because it rains in PA all the time… and you can’t just put a tent for 130 people to party under in a thick wooded forest area

reason #3 was a fail because… bad weather could destroy everything

I ended up loving the idea of the woods so much I went with a midsummer nights dream theme and am currently trying to make our venue look and feel like the woods… lol

Mine would also be destination wedding. I’d love to get married in Israel. It’s not a money thing though, my husband’s parents don’t fly.
