Hi everyone! I am in the process of booking my honeymoon to the Punta Cana Dreams Resort & Spa (not the Palm Beach one). Has anyone been there recently or know anyone that has gone recently? I have always heard good things, but I looked on sites like trip advisor and people within the last few months are saying the food isnt very good or just par. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! 🙂

I’ve never stayed at the Dreams Punta Cana, I did stay at the Dreams Palm Beach resort in Punta Cana last year (which was AMAZING). That’s where my Fiance proposed. I’ve also stayed at Dreams properties in Cancun Mexico & Puerto Vallarta Mexico & they always have top notch service. Check out tripadvisor for reviews on that specific resort! 🙂

@stephcramer1: I went there about 2 years ago and Fiance and I loved it! It’s is a beautiful resort, awesome pool, and we never had any problems with the food. In fact I think they have had the best food of all the all inclusive resorts I have been to. I mean a lot could change in a couple years but Dreams resorts have pretty high standards so if there was a problem I am sure they will fix it asap. 🙂

Hope this isn’t threadjacking and maybe OP is curious too, are there any adventureous things to do in Punta Cana or DR. I was reading other threads that say DR is mainly resort time and beach…no sight seeing.

I have found a couple of excursions that were planning on doing! Were taking a catamaran snorkeling tour thats a day trip (Sunny Day Sailing Cruise). I did one in puerto rico and it was my favorite part of the whole vaca. Were also going to the Marinarium to swim with sting rays and sharks and to Macao Surf Camp for surfing lessons. All of these have raving reviews on trip advisor 🙂

@stephcramer1: My Fiance and I just got back from there 2 weeks ago. We stayed 7 days and LOVED it! The resort was immaculate and staff was extremely friendly. The food at the buffet restaurant was good but the other restaurants were great! Our group really enjoyed the Sea Side Grill steakhouse and Portofino itialian restaurant. I recommend trying out one of the grill tables at the Japanese restaurant. The chef puts on a show. The guys in our group were a little bored because there weren’t many activties going on inside the resort they were into (Zumba, water aerobics, etc). But us girls were content laying by the pool drinking our Bahama Mamas and Sammy Sosa’s. There were always chairs available any time of the day at the pool and the beach. The entertainment in the theatre each night was pretty good. One of the nights they had a circus show and the rest of our group said it was amazing. It was more cirque de soleil than clowns and tight ropes. We didn’t make it that show. We had the best bartenders and the best service at the swim up bar (but the rest of the bars and bartenders were great too! We just spent more time at the swim up bar). Francisco hooked us up! It may have been because our guys were tipping him so well or they were tipping so well because he was doing a good job. Take comfortable sandals because the walk is rough in uncomfortable shoes. We stayed in building 1 which is the furthest from the main building and buffet restaurant (the only breakfast place unless you get room service). A couple of restaurants have dress codes and they do enforce it. Fiance wore jeans and button up short sleeve shirts and he was fine. Sorry this is so long but I can’t say enough good things about it. I hope you have a great time!
