My wedding is (obviously) 18 months away. I bought my shoes a while ago–Manolos that I’ve had my eye on. Yes, they’re the Something Blues from the SATC movie. I’m a sucker. I found them on ebay, worn once, in my size, which NEVER happens, and paid less than 1/3 the actual price. I figured it was meant to be, since cobalt is one of our colors.
I also bought my dress this far in advance. My mother is driving me nuts and has made me go dress shopping every month since I got engaged, so to put an end to it, I bought one. I kept going back to it every time I tried dresses on and every time I looked online, and the shop said I could exchange for a different size or style if I wanted to, so I said why not.
That being said, I paid $500 for the dress, and I’m wearing $945 shoes. Is that a problem??

I think that’s wonderful! The shoes you’ll wear again; the dress you won’t.
p.s. I’m so jealous you got those shoes.

LOL I don’t see a problem! I’m jealous you got those shoes too, and I’m not even a heels/shoe person 😀

I love those shoes… and you will be able to get more wear out of them then the dress so splurge on them!

Sounds like two fabulous finds! Enjoy the dress for the day and the shoes for years to come!

Definitely not a problem! as others said, you’ll get more use out of the shoes 🙂 Enjoy them!

Well I PAID less for the shoes than for the dress. It’s just their original cost and their fanciness–I ended up getting a David’s Bridal dress, and DB is often notorious for their BLAH factor. Though I do love the dress for how unique it is, and I actually was always anti-DB and only went to make my mother happy and ended up loving this particular dress (and really disliked every other DB dress).
I really am a shoe girl. I care very little about the dress (Though like I said I do like mine) and I’m in love with the shoes. If my fiance didn’t nix the idea, I would have gotten a shorter dress to show off my shoes!
