- Wedding: July 2012
My first post here! I was inspired by all the great feedback on dresses I’ve seen on the Weddingbee boards. I’m torn between a few styles of dresses. We’re having a ranch wedding in San Luis Obispo county and I’m going for a rustic/vintage vibe, but I still want it to feel like a big, fun party.
I tried on the Rosalinda by Madeline Gardner (first pic). I would never have picked it off the rack, but the sales associate had me try it on, and I loved it on. I have very muscular arms and a flat chest and curvy hips and avoided the looking mannish in a dress thing with this on.
I found a similar style in the Macey by Modern Trousseau (second pic) and I liked the skirt better, but am a little worried it would make me look thick waisted.
However, I wasn’t sure either goes with the vibe of the wedding. I also loved this bride’s style, but wasn’t sure it would be as flattering: http://greenweddingshoes.com/vintage-inspired-love-story/. She’s wearing the Diana by Enzoani, which is the third pic. I ADORE that belt and figured I could always get something similar made on etsy.
I am trying to keep my costs down and although the Diana is out of my budget, I found a woman on etsy who does amazing designer reproductions. She did a Jim Hjelm JH8763, which has similarities to the Diana for only $698.
Any thoughts given my wedding feel, body type, etc? Your input is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much and happy planning!
