Okay, So I need some help. First of all, the dress I LOVE is Dabra by Blue by Enzoani and my price range is ~$500…so that’s not happening. (at the very bottom Miss Navy in Dabra) You should know that I’ve never seen this dress in person.
Before trying on any dresses, I wanted a pretty sparkly belt, a dropped waist gown, white, and a cathedral length veil. After trying on dresses I’ve basically narrowed it down to these two(or keep looking??? I don’t know, I’m freaking out a bit).
The first one is Allure 8488, it’s a sample sale so the dess is marked down to $500, which I like very much.
the dress is very pretty, but super ivory/antique. which wouldn’t go too well with yellow bridesmaid dresses (which was my first choice, but I might go with deep teal or black).
The second dress is Casablanca 1827, I’d have to order it and it’s regular price so it’d be about $750. I added the belt, it was just a piece of applique lying around the store.
Which dress is best? Should I keep looking for a more dabra-esque dress? I don’t think that even exists in my price range. BAH! HELP! :/

I love the first one! The train is gorgeous.

Okay, first thing – take a deep breath. Calm down. You don’t need to decide this second.
I have a Blue by Enzonai dress, and I agree – I don’t think you’re going to find a Dabra in your price range, or at least not new. Try used! But if you’ve never tried it on, then keep it that way – you’ll find it much easier to focus on what you CAN have. Which is a lot!
Your two dresses that you have it narrowed down to are very similar. I love the train on the first one, but the neckline on the second.
Can you keep looking? Of course. Don’t put money down til you’re sure, and then when you’ve put money down, quit looking! Don’t settle – but don’t have your heart set on the impossible, because that’s when people wind up spending triple their budget or go back and buy a second dress.

Never fear! Stay the course – keep the idea of Dabra in your mind, and keep looking! Never settle. 🙂

@red_pepper_gal: Yes, that’s exactly the reason I never tried on Dabra, and I’ve found I’m super price conscious while trying on gowns. If a gown is say $900 I don’t even allow myself to like anything about it. Which is why I like the $500 one! lol.
I think I also feel pressured because of the people at the bridal shop. (they’re not pressuring me at all, but I’m pressuring myself because I’ve been in to look at this particular dress 3 times, and I feel like I am wasting their time and should just get it!)

I like the second one…I like the neckline on the first one but I love the skirt on the second one..if I had to choose I would pick the second one.

I love the first one. It looks incredible on you, and it’s so elegant!

I think the second one is most flattering, but it looks as though both might be too big? At least in the bust? I have that problem too with most dresses.
Here are a couple Maggie Sotteros that look a bit like the Dabra. If you bought them used maybe you could get closer to $500:

@vermontia: Thanks! yeah, they are both too big in the bust. I’d have the bust of the first one taken in. I think that I was stuffed into a size 8 in the 2nd dress, so it wouldn’t zip up all the way, but I tried a size 12 on in a different store (that didn’t allow pictures, boo) and it fit really well.
