Normally you begin alterations 6wks before your wedding.  An excellent seamstress will easily be able to hem the dress and keep the detailing.  Because I can’t see the seams of the dress, I can’t tell you how they will actually hem.  Its all based on the seaming and the dress is made.  Don’t worry!!!!  A bridal seamstress will easily be able to hem.

Btw- I have a chiffon train and couldn’t figure out how my seamstress would be able to bustle it.  Once she showed me how she would do a French bustle, I know I found the right seamstress for me.  Too bad your not in California.

Good Luck!!!!  And use the Bee to find a recommended seamstress.  Not all bridal seamstresses @ a bridal shop are worthy of the honor.
