You’re right. It all just looks… wide. The lines on your hips make them look wider in the altered dress. I hate what they did with the line going towards your shoulders too, and the bust looked much better before, or am I seeing things?

Everything in the altered dress just look a bit worse than on the dress from the store. You should do something about it, no doubt!

Maybe they can switch dresses with you?

Do you have any pictures of the altered dress, taken from the same angle as the unaltered? I can’t see what you’re talking about, and I think it’s because the dress will naturally appear wider if shot from the front versus the side.

bridget2626 :  I might be in the minority here, but I think its stunning dress and looks great on you.

Could you wear it for the ceremony and get a cheaper prom/ formal evening dress for your reception to keep the cost lower instead of a completely new wedding dress.

bridget2626 :  yes but what I’m saying is that your in store photos are amgled, and your post alteration photos are looking straight at the camera. That angled line on your shoulder maybe the same, depending. Put the dress back on and take a photo from the same angle as your previous alteration photos, and see if it looks the same. The reason why a lot of dress models stand at an angle, and not facing front, as you posted with the last pic, is because it’s a more flattering angle.

musket87 :  agreed, it’s hard to see exactly what’s going on without identical photos. Angled shots are always more flattering than straight on shots. The only thing I’m really seeing as different is the angle of the line near the shoulder.

How many sizes different was the sample?  If the sample was smaller that can account for the different look of the top
