This is my first post, other than commenting and I just wanted to say I LOVE weddingbee! 🙂 Anyway, I purchased my dress a year and a half ago. I had not planned on buying ANYTHING that day, just wanted to try a few styles on to see what I liked. I tried 10-15 dresses on, and fell in love with the last one. It was actually a sample for half price. It didn’t zip completely, but I knew I was going to lose weight, and the only thing that the dress was missing that I had always wanted was a corset back. I decided to buy the dress ($600) and just figured I would change it to a corset back. Now, with a little over three months until the wedding, I scheduled my first fitting in two days!!!! I’ve lost about 15 pounds and the dress fits great, zips all the way, etc, BUT I hate the way my back looks 🙁 I’m clueless on what to change. I’ve seen on PPs about making it a V in the back and that sounds like a good idea, or should I do a corset? Does it look like these can be done to my dress? I guess another option is to let out the dress so its not tight at all and doesnt dig/pinch? I just REALLY don’t want it digging and making it looks like I have tons of back fat. I don’t have an actual picture of me and the back of my dress, but I’ll upload some including the model picture of the back. Thanks in advance everyone!

Thank you! Sorry for the awful picture in my bathroom lol I wish I could leave it but I hate the way the back is on me. I LOVE the front but when I look at the back it makes me feel fat and just upset :/ Thanks everyone for the opinions! Keep ’em comin! 🙂

I really love the dress on you, but I think the back is just begging for a corset. 🙂 I could be biased (my dress has a corset too!) but I think it would definitely just give it a little extra.

First of all you are NOT fat!, the dress looks beautiful on you 🙂 But I understand envisioning something a certian way, and the real deal not livng up! With that being said… I think a corset would look amazing on this dress!

I don’t think you should change a thing.

Turn it into a V! It really fixes the back. I changed mine, and it made a world of difference. I would suggest bringing the V down to the crystal part (if that makes sense)

I would change it into a V and add buttons.

I think it looks great!
I don’t think it needs any changes, but if you do anything, I’d go for the v. The corset would require removal of a lot of the embellishment/beading on the back…a good amount to get the loops attached. I wouldn’t want to mess with all that bling. It’s so pretty. 🙂

I’d ask a seamstress abou the V … the corset would be great, but like pp said, “all that bling!!” I have seen some Maggie’s with bling and corset, though, so it’s possible! I had a straight across back and we let it out and left it alone. I hate my wedding pics from the back!! (I wanted to do the V on mine)
