Bees, please help.
I’m not happy with my wedding dress the way it is, the plunging neckline in the middle just doesn’t suit the dress. The cups were originally a triangle shape – pointed at the top with thin straps. I had them rounded off and the straps removed because I thought the pointy tops just looked strange. Now that I’ve tried it on after rounding the cups off, I think the plunging ‘V’ in the middle looks horrible! I kind of wish I had left the dress how it was, I liked it better then than I do now.
I can’t undo the alterations that have already been done, the cups have to stay rounded as the fabric has been cut off. It’s only the low cut centre part that I can fix.
I could add fabric behind the low cut section so that it has more of a ‘sweetheart’ neckline, but do you think that will look worse, like it’s not meant to be there?
I know it’s not a great picture, with the angle and the lighting it really doesn’t look flattering at all which I think is making me feel worse about it. Tell me what you think – do I leave the dress how it is or do I add fabric to make it a sweetheart neckline?

@peonyprincess: it’s hard to tell but maybe the seamstress cn close the v as little. Honestly it doesn’t look bad to me tho

The V looks a little forced/awkward to me. I’m sure it’s easily fixable!

@peonyprincess: Honestly, i think the dress looks beautiful as is!

i think you’re absolutely right. the deep v looks out of place. i think it will be lovely with a more traditional sweetheart neck!

I thought that the dress was beautiful when I scrolled down. The “V” is fine to me. It adds interest to the design. If it makes you uncomfortable, add the fabric.

You’d have to talk to the seamstress. If they could get fabric covering the V that looks natural and makes it look like a sweetheart, then yes I think it would be a bit better. But the V doesn’t look bad, and I think it will look much worse if there’s an obvious patch of fabric in the middle.
But either way, your dress is gorgeous and you look amazing!

I think it looks sexy and classy as it is.

@peonyprincess: Agree with pp’s. It’s totally fixable with some extra fabirc, and I definitely agree with the slight sweetheart versus what you have now. The plunging neckline makes the dress look a bit 1990’s.

I would add some fabric or something to close the v in slightly, it does look slightly awkward, but other than that the dress is beautiful and looks amazing on you.

Yah, the deep V looks really random on that dress. I’d alter it and I think it will look amazing.

I’m gonna go against the grain and say I absolutely love it. I think it adds a bit of difference and edge to a really beautiful, classic dress.

I think it depends on the look you’re going for
I think the v -as it is, is a modestly sexy look, and I think it looks awesome!
If you want a more conservative look, I’d say go for the sweetheart – and I think it will stil look gorgeous!
