(Closed) Dress alterations question- from Ballgown to slim A-line?

I am sorry I am not a seamstress. But it looks to me as though she would have to cut out some fabric, but she can easily do that where the seams are. It shoudl not be too difficult.

I was planning on doing the same with my Justin Alexander dress. And to be honest, I didn’t even think about the fabric being an issue. My dress is silk chiffon. Hmmmmm…thanks for this post. I have to go ask my seamstress about this now.

But I think in your case, the fabric would have to be cut which is an added cost.

I think it can be done. If the dress has front pleats I would discuss them with the seamstress to make sure you don’t end up with any puffiness up front. I’m sure they can make the front lay flat without the tulle. I love the bodice.

@Evie19: lol. I thought they were similar but the waistline looks different. I thought you picked that picture because it was almost the same dress.
