I think this would be lovely with a lace bolero. Does your bridal shop (or other shops in your area) have any you can try on?

What did the seamstress suggest to get rid of the puckering? It almost looks like it’s laced too tight, causing some of the issues you’re having. Has it been hemmed too and are you wearing the shoes you’ll be using?

See if they can put in bigger cups, definitely. And I think a boatneck lace top would look amazing! Another bee, whose name I can never remember, had a satin dress that she put a lace top over, and it looked gorgeous.

BRB searching for her.

@vorpalette:  Stargurl something, maybe? I know I’ve seen lots of beautiful pics of her bolero. Can’t remember if her gown was satin, though.

@KCKnd2:  Ahhh, I think that’s it. I’m combing some threads for her pictures!

I do see the puckering you are referring to, and it’s possible a different bra may make a difference. My dress had a corset back and I never found a bra that worked, but the dress did have enough structure to is, so I went braless. You could try no bra and see how it looks (every dress will be different though, I can’t tell from the pictures if your dress has enough support).

I like the idea of a lace overtop. I think it would look lovely with your dress. If you find a top that comes to the belt, the puckering might well become a non-issue because you won’t see it anymore. I say take the chance. Something along the lines of this maybe:

@Jennlee:  I really like the boleros that @StarryNight2011:  posted!!!  I definitely dont think that they would take away from the sweetheart neckline

I faced a similar challenge in seeking the proper foundational garment to wear under my gown. The bridal salon advised me to purchase a long-line, corset bra, so I bought several to try.  Unfortunately, the effect was the same.  Those types of bras are designed to smooth the area beneath the bust and to push your bust upward, into the curve of the gown cups.  Unfortunately, the awful down side to this is that these foundations ended up giving me WAY, WAY too much cleavage. As a result, I instead chose a simple, strapless bra.  It help to keep my bust much lower in the dress.  However, the negative effect of this choice is that I had creases in my dress beneath the bust, and I really disliked how this looks in my photos.
