Aww hunny, from what I can see it looks beautiful! Do you have a picture of the front so we can really see how it looks on you?

ETA: Your veil is gorgeous! I love the trim on it.

I think the petticoat is going to make a HUGE difference!! It will make the shape a lot different and it is a beautiful dress!

@ashron:  I LOVE the rouching on your dress, it is so romantic. What are you not liking about it? Maybe we Bees can help.

It looks like it needs to be altered.  The straps look too big and I think they’re making the dress look uneven.  I also think it might be able to fit better in the torso as well.  And it’s definitely way too long on you.  I would say get a petticoat (maybe a nice airy hoop skirt?), and go see a seamstress.  A seamstress will pin it for you on the spot and you can see if you like it better.  If you definitely don’t like the dress, you don’t have to pay for the alterations.

I think the dress has the potential to be really beautiful on you.  The ruching and the sparkle on the bodice are awesome.  I think a little better fit, the right length, and a little poof in the skirt and you’ll be amazed at the difference.

@Future MrsB:  Agree with this.

I really like the dress on you, I think it’s actually really flattering. When you have a hoop or petticoat on and the bottom is more “poofy” it’s going to make your waist look so slim. I think just shorten the straps and see about taking it in a bit more around the waist and it will look gorgeous!

i think the dress is very flattering on you and is beautiful! I would just get it hemmed up a bit if you are wearing the same size shoe you will on your wedding day as you are in the picture. It does look a bit long but that is an easy fix!

@ashron:  I agree with the other ladies; I think that you just need to have it fitted to you. It really is a lovely gown but you need to have it taken in and you should be wearing a petticoat with it. (That will make a big difference). I also think that the straps aren’t doing you any justice with the way that they are sitting now. I think that if you have them angled a little bit so that they make more of a V shape it will make your neckline even more beautiful than it already is.

               A great tailor can make all the difference, like PP’s said, once it is pinned you will fall in love with it all over again because you will see how it really fits on you. Don’t give up on it now.

I think you look beautiful and it gives you an amazing shape:) I agree that a petticoat or a small hoop skirt would help give it more shape. It’s the first fitting, so don’t panic yet!

I love the sparkle in your veil!
