I like the dress you bought over them all! My second choice is the last dress, the ballgown type one. I feel like the tight dresses dont give you enough of a waist. I say don’t worry about your age, wear a dress you want to wear!

I really like the a-line (last dress). I think any similar a-line with a natural waist, defined waistline and floaty skirt would work – e.g. this Watters dress:

I don’t think you have to rule out fitted dresses though. I actually like the ones you’ve tried on, though I don’t  think either of them are the one.

I think you should look for fitted dresses that are either…

… in a light flowy fabric

… minimalist with waist definition

… light ruching

… more of a sheath style

… with a wide neckline to create the illusion of curves

I don’t think you’re that far off with the ones you’ve tried so far. I think you’re being hard on yourself. It’s difficult when you’re so petite that a lot of samples are going to look huge on you. But they’ll be so much better when they fit you.

I think the ML would be very flattering on you if it fit properly.

Agree with the PPs–you can wear anything.  My personal favorite is the last one, so classic & very flattering.

Well i actually really like the sample dress. I think it looks beauitful on you. Once you have it hemmed, maybe add a veil and your shoes…amazing!!! But if you dont feel good in it…cut your losses and move on. Ia gree woth everyone else. You have a great body and i think you will look amazing in any style. good luck!

the last dress is very beautiful on you and so is the one you already owned from a previous engagement. What if you got the flowers removed, added a tulle over skirt with a jeweled sash. Or you can add rhinestones to the flowers and a rhinestone sash. I’m sure once the dress gets fitted you will like it more!

wb123 :  I would consider having your old satin dress with the pickups remade into a ruched mermaid.
